New Weekday Afterschool Mandarin Program

 

Evergreen Mingyuan School (明遠中文學校)is excited to launch a new Weekday Afterschool Mandarin Program for families who would like more consistent language exposure during the week. Building on our established Saturday Mandarin program, we now offer weekday classes designed to immerse your child in the beauty of Traditional Mandarin language and culture.

 

Program Overview

 

  • Language Focus: Traditional Mandarin

  • Age Group: Children 4 years and older

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00–5:00 PM 

    • You may choose different days for each session, from one to five days per week. The same days will apply each week within that session.

  • Tuition: Fees are based on the number of days per week enrolled.

    • 5 days per week: $500 per session

    • 4 days per week: $400 per session

    • 3 days per week: $300 per session

    • 2 days per week: $200 per session

    • 1 day per week: $100 per session

  • Payment: Payment is due before the first day of each enrolled session.

  • Enrollment: Maximum 24 students

  • Location: 10005 32nd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125

 

This program is designed to help children build a strong foundation in Mandarin in a warm, creative, and culturally rich environment.

 

Program Highlights

 

Our Weekday Afterschool Program uses Traditional Mandarin and emphasizes both language and culture. Classes include:

 

  • Mandarin Language

    • Listening and speaking in everyday situations

    • Basic reading and writing with Traditional characters

    • Vocabulary and sentence patterns appropriate to each age level

  • Integrated Cultural & Creative Activities

    • Singing & Rhythm Activities – learn Mandarin through songs and music

    • Drawing & Painting – build vocabulary through art and illustration

    • Clay & Craft Projects – hands-on activities that support language use

    • Chinese Calligraphy – experience the beauty of brush writing

    • Handicrafts & Creative Work – seasonal and cultural projects


All activities are taught in Mandarin, helping children learn naturally through doing, not just through textbooks.

 

Sessions in Spring 2026 Semester:

  • Session 1: January 12, 2026 – February 6, 2026

  • Session 2: February 9, 2026 – March 6, 2026

  • Session 3: March 9, 2026 – April 3, 2026

  • Session 4: April 6, 2026 – May 1, 2026

  • Session 5: May 4, 2026 – May 29, 2026

  • Session 6: June 1, 2026 – June 26, 2026

 

Daily Schedule & Pick-Up/Drop-Off

 

  • Class Time:

    • Monday–Friday, 4:00–5:00 PM

  • Early Drop-Off:

    • Parents may drop students off as early as 3:30 PM.

    • Supervision is provided, but formal class instruction begins at 4:00 PM.

  • Late Pick-Up Policy:

    • Regular pick-up time is by 5:30 PM.

    • If a child is picked up after 5:30 PM, a late fee of $3 per minute will be charged.
