Explore watercolor painting in a calm, welcoming environment with classes designed for Beginning to Intermediate and Intermediate to Advanced students. These small group classes focus on watercolor techniques, composition, and creative expression through guided demonstrations and hands on practice.
Classes meet once per week for four sessions and are offered on multiple weekdays to fit different schedules. Students will receive individualized feedback and build skills they can apply to future paintings.

Discover the joy of watercolor painting in this beginner-friendly class designed to build confidence, foundational watercolor skills, and creativity. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning after a break, this class provides a supportive environment to learn and grow.
You’ll be learning the essential watercolor techniques, including color mixing, washes, layering, and water control through step-by-step demonstrations, hands-on practice, and discussion. Each session includes live demonstrations, guided practice, and individualized feedback to help you progress at your own pace.
In this class, you will be learning not only watercolor painting techniques, but also the composition and perspective of art, including:
Watercolor basic techniques: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry-on-wet, and dry-on-dry.
How to create sky and fluffy clouds
How to create water ripples and waves
How to paint rocks under water
How to create the illusion of space by adding the silhouette of mountains.
How to create forest and mountains reflections in the lake.
How to add the final touch of seagull silhouette.

Explore the expressive and luminous world of watercolor painting. In this intermediate to advanced watercolor class, I will guide you step by step to create a mountain landscape with a fall forest and lake painting. Students will be learning not only watercolor painting techniques, but also the composition and perspective of art, including:
The basic watercolor techniques, including dry-on-dry, wet-on-dry, and wet-on-wet.
How to create seamless sky by applying flat wash technique.
How to compose an eye catch layout.
How to paint snowy mountains.
How to create the illusion of depth by painting different layers of mountains.
How to paint realistic pine trees.
How to create fall foliage for your painting.
How to create foggy effects.
How to create tree reflections on the lake.
After this class, you will be able to apply these techniques and knowledge to your other paintings. I can’t wait to paint with you in my class.

I authorize the child named in this registration to participate in all activities both in the classroom and activities. On my own behalf and on behalf of the child named in this registration, I assume the risks of participation and hereby waive and release all claims against Evergreen Mingyuan School (including its directors, staff, and agents) that may arise from injuries, harm or loss resulting from participation in the classes and activities, to the fullest extent allowed under Washington law.
I understand that my child may be photographed during classes and activities. Photos may be made available to all families and photos may be used in promotional materials. I agree that a designee of Evergreen Mingyuan School can take and use photos of the child named in this registration during classes and activities without compensational obligation, and I hereby release Evergreen Mingyuan School from any claims or liability resulting from their use of photos.
In the event of serious illness or injury to my child, I expressly consent to the administration of emergency medical care, if in the opinion of attending medical personnel, such action is advisable. Further, I authorize the staff and agents of Evergreen Mingyuan School to act on my behalf as parent/guardian of my child while participating in classes or activities including the admittance to and release from a medical facility. I acknowledge that the costs of any medical treatment provided to the child named in this registration that are not covered by medical insurance will be my sole responsibility.
